The Old Elephant Trail was once a very busy trade route over the mountains between Mae Hong Son and Chiang Mai. Established around 1831 the route became abandoned when roads were built in the 1950s, but many of the hilltribe villages along the trail are still here.

Your 4x4 adventure starts with an easy, scenic drive South to charming Chiang Mai. Late morning, you will be picked up from your hotel or the airport. After a short ride, lunch will be taken en route at the lovely Khaomao–Khaofang restaurant.
