Travellers' Tales

This month, two wonderful people have written about their holiday in Thailand.  Kelly went to Phuket and have a fantastic sea canoeing experience, and Andrew visited Kanchanaburi and found a great cooking school.

The trip of a lifetime - Kelly

My husband and I just returned from a phenomenal two-week trip to Thailand. We spent 2 nights in Bangkok and the rest of the time in Phuket. Phuket is a magnificent place and the people are so friendly. For the most part, we stayed at the Kata Thani Resort in Kata Noi beach, which was a beautiful, relaxing resort away from the hustle of Patong. We went to a Thai boxing tournament and enjoyed a sunset sea canoe trip through caves with John Gray, which was outstanding. The trip also worked out quite reasonable for the level of accommodation and pampering and I would definitely recommend Thailand for a holiday, as it has so much to offer.

Tour Tips for Kanchanaburi - Andrew

We had a fantastic time in Kanchanaburi and saw everything there was to see and do.  We visited the Bridge over River Kwai, Australian War Museum, Hellfire Pass and of course, the famous Tiger Temple.

We stayed at a little local guesthouse, called PLOY Guesthouse, located right on the river banks of the on the river Kwai.  We booked a month in advance and lucky we did as when we were there they were turning people away.  Make sure you book via internet as rate reduces from around 800baht to 550baht.

The place where we ate every day was apple and noi or apples guest house. I heard great things about their cooking school. We didn't do it but if their restaurant food was anything to go by then it should be a cracker.
