Amazing Thailand

Dear fellow Tuk Tukers,

Last month we promised to bring you some of the best that Thailand has to offer. Well how are these for a start?

The green season is a fantastic time to visit Thailand. Crowds are non existent, temperatures are warm, the skies are beautiful, succulent fruits are at their best and there are some never to be repeated offers available.

We hope that you enjoy this edition. Next month we will begin a series of restaurant and hotel reviews from our team on the road.

Happy travels!

Nancy Chandler We've polled friends and family who have visited Thailand with children to put together this top ten list of things to keep the kids interested and entertained during your travels. We’ve left out the obvious (such as riding elephants) and tried to include only things you might not otherwise think of, all of which can be done in almost any city you visit in Thailand or even before you visit. Unique listings make it possible for travelers to personalize their experience of each city. In the indexes accompanying both maps users will find brew pubs, bowling alleys and polo clubs, cinemas, spas, and specials for the 'Sweet Tooth'.

Emirates - Virgin Blue Emirates and Virgin Blue have just announced a new interline agreement which will see a "seamless, single ticket option" for travellers flying from 13 Australian destinations to Emirates' network of 100 destinations in more than 60 countries.

The deal also includes free transfers for guests transiting between the domestic and international terminals in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth as well as interlining of checked baggage through to the final Emirates destination.

There's also reciprocity between the frequent flyer schemes of both carriers, allowing earning and redeeming of Velocity or Skywards points on flights of both carriers on a one-for-one point basis.

"This agreement opens up a viable international travel alternative for those Australians residing in regional towns or cities where flight services are more limited, and we are confident the Virgin Blue/Emirates offering will prove hugely popular amongst business and leisure travellers alike," said Emirates Airline Vice President Australia, Stephen Pearse.

The through fares will be available from Adelaide, Albury, Cairns, Canberra, Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast, Hobart, Launceston, Mackay, Mildura, Port Macquarie, Rockhampton and Townsville through all of EK's Australian gateway cities, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

After several years languishing at the bottom of the table, an elephant polo team sponsored by TATs Amazing Thailand proved to be a pachyderm force to be reckoned with during the recent 2009 King’s Cup Elephant Polo tournament, taking more favoured competitors to task and proving that experience isn’t always the key to success.
