Yellow is a colour that captures the essence of Thailand - the golden glow of the Grand Palace, the saffron robes of monks and the yellow warmth as the sun rises over Sukothai. With your camera at the ready, now is your chance to join Intrepid as you capture the many shades of this colourful country on a very special small group adventure - Thailand Through the Lens.
Following the sell-out success of Intrepid's photography trip in India, we are thrilled to announce Thailand Through the Lens. This is another golden opportunity to travel with experienced photographer Steve Davey on a very special photographic journey that explores northern Thailand.
Author of the BBC book Unforgettable Places to See Before You Die, Steve Davey will provide Intrepid travellers with expert knowledge, assistance and insight into the art of travel photography, as you witness the ancient kingdom of Siam through the lens of your cameras.
For budding photographers, a highlight of this photographic adventure is sure to be the 'Buddhist Elephant Ordination Celebration' in Sukhothai. This lively procession features beautifully decorated elephants, carrying young Buddhist novices in colourful costumes to worship at Wat Hat Siao. Other highlights will include cruising Bangkok's 'khlongs' to photograph life by the canals, visiting the Elephant Conservation Centre, gaining an insight into Thai history in Kanchanaburi and learning the secrets of Thai cuisine.
Thailand Through the Lens is designed in the Intrepid Comfort style of travel to ensure a real life experience with a softer landing, so all your energies can be focused on your photos. What a wonderful way to get the most out of your travelling imagery and come away with treasured memories of colourful Thailand.
