Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas Wins Top Environment Award
Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas Hua Hin has been presented with the Thailand Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Monitoring Award for 2008, initiated by the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning, under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
The award was presented by Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Mr Suwit Khunkitti, who said that it was being given in recognition of the hotel’s outstanding contribution to community service and tourist accommodation.
This is the third occasion that the Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas Hua Hin has won this award, the previous two years having been 1999 and 2007. Additionally, the hotel was presented with the Ministry of Labour Welfare’s Safety, Hygiene and Environment Award in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
There are 207 luxurious appointed rooms and suites, each with its own private balcony overlooking the ocean or landscaped gardens, and 42 villas with spacious living accommodation and the option of their own pool, offering privacy along with the ultimate in luxury.

Noted Thai architect Duangrit Bunnag’s modernist vision of a beach resort embraces sculptural forms, natural materials and excellent feng shui beside the Gulf of Thailand. The bare concrete walls and floors of the 79 rooms and villas are warmed with woods and limestone and lavished wi th home theatre systems, Apple TV and free WiFi. The Spa Alila offers indigenous treatments by day and transforms into the vampish Red Bar by night. A “leisure concierge” can help arrange outings such as night-time squid fishing.

Samui Taxi Meter Service Clarification
We have had some reports of taxi drivers not using their meters. As a result the Tourism Office has released instructions to all taxi drivers. We hope that such quick action will assist all travelers to the kingdom a hassle free experience using taxis.

Club Med & TAT FAM Trip
Club Med in conjunction with Tourism Authority of Thailand recently took a group of Travel with Kidz agent on a fam trip to Thailand, staying at Club Med Phuket on Kata Beach. The fam trip included stays in Bankok, Bandara Suites and Club Med Phuket where we indulged in the all inclusive premium product at Club Med. The group also visited the Fantasea Show, lots of shopping, morning walks along Kata Beach, thai masseage at our Club Med Spa circus trapeze and experiencing all the evening entertainment at Club Med.
