Koh Lanta comprises of 52 islands that form the southernmost district of Krabi Province.  The two largest islands are Koh Lanta Yai and Koh Lanta Noi (Big Lanta and Little Lanta).

Getting to Koh Lanta

There are currently 5 flights per day from Bangkok to Krabi on THAI and Thai Air Asia.  There are also four flights per week from Singapore to Krabi with Tiger Airways.  From Krabi Airport, you can either catch a public minivan to Koh Lanta, or your private hotel transfer will be there to meet you.  It takes around two hours for the complete trip to the island, including the drive from the airport and two rides on the car ferries.

If you are visiting from November to April, you may catch a boat from the first car ferry pier (Klong Chi Lard Pier) directly to your resort.

Best time to visit Koh Lanta

November to April each year is the best time to visit Koh Lanta.  If you visit from May to October, you may experience some rainfall and visibility of the sea may not be as clear as at other times, but you are sure to enjoy yourself still!
