Beyond the compact provincial capital, where Kwai Yai and Kwai Noi rivers unite to form the Mae Klong River, Kanchanaburi unfolds into a rugged, beautiful landscape of mountains, waterfalls, caves and tranquil riverside settings. A sparsely populated province, much of which has been preserved in National Parks, Kanchanaburi is a treat for nature lovers and cyclists. Although there is some long riding, this is a fully supported trip, suitable for most levels of riders.
The tour includes a visit to the famous floating market of Damnuern Saduak, followed by a ride through small Thai villages and teak plantations. You will also see the Bridge and the Railway Museum, before taking in the Death Railway and the Kraset Caves. Then you'll visit an elephant camp and then jump back on your bike and discover Prasat Muang Singh, a Khmer temple that dates back to the Angkorian period of the 12th century.
The tour will also take you to the second ancient capital of Siam, Ayutthaya, where you will spend the day cycling around the city ruins, which are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Rise early to witness monks collecting alms at a nearby monastry the next day and then explore the former Royal Summer Palace of Bang Pa In, ending the tour in bangkok.
