Thai Airways Domestic Operations Cease at Don Mueang

Thai Airways International has moved all domestic operations from Don Mueang to Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok after an official announcement on Friday.

On Saturday 29 March 2009, 23 domestics flights previously operated from Don Mueang started operations at Suvanarnabhumi.

New facilities and services for passengers have been introduced to make the transition smoother, such as 24 extra check-in counters, an expanded domestic lounge area, a new ground communications PDA device and boarding pass printing at home via internet.

Averages of 3500 to 4500 extra passengers per day are expected to pass through Suvarnabhumi Airport due to the changes.

Acting President Narongsak Sangapong said the move to a single terminal was also a “major strategy of Star Alliance” “It means we can further consolidate our passenger services, increase traffic flow and efficiency and improve transit times”

The Radisson Hotel Bangkok Sathorn announced the launch of its pre-opening campaign billed as “It Must Be City Life: Two Towers, One of a Kind" on 4 March 2009.

This campaign focuses on introducing the Radisson Hotel Bangkok Sathorn as crisp, captivating, cool.

The hotel is set to be the first Radisson-managed property to open in Bangkok in mid-2009 under the

Radisson Hotels & Resorts® portfolio, the leading upscale, full-service brand managed by Carlson Hotels Worldwide – Asia Pacific. This new campaign is set to convey the three distinctive points of the hotel: the location, the two-tower structure landmark and the guest experience — all within the context of city life.
