Angela Barbiero promises that Phi Phi Island is the perfect holiday destination!
My first journey to Thailand was in July last year, and it truly was an experience that refreshed my spirit and soul. My fiancé and I visited so many wonderful places in Thailand but my short stay in Phi Phi was pure bliss.
The simplicity of stepping out of my bungalow and having a calming sea right at my doorstep was just what I needed. I spent most days lying in a hammock, occasionally taking a dip in the pristine water to cool off and soaking up the warming sunshine.
I could have succumbed to this ritual for all my remaining time at Phi Phi and feel no guilt, but I was curious to explore the rest of the surrounding islands. The best way to visit the islands was by a private long boat. Taking a delicious packed picnic lunch provided by the hotel we set off to the famous “Beach” and various hongs (lagoons), which were breathtakingly picturesque. Photographs just don’t do these natural wonders justice. The most enchanting highlight of the tour was snorkeling in crystal clear blue water with thousands of schools of coloured fish swimming over and underneath you. At no other time in my life had I felt so at peace.
On our final night at Phi Phi we walked up to the highest point of the island to The Sunset Satay Bar and as the name suggests we took in the last of the day’s sunlight slipping into the horizon while sipping cocktails and tasting sizzling satay skewers.
I have traveled to many amazing places in the world but nothing as visually spectacular or rejuvenating as Phi Phi. Absolute pure magic! |
